For more than 100 years, the construction industry has relied on fundamentally the same site-built methods. While other industries have undergone dramatic technological transformations, construction remains one of the last sectors resistant to modernization.
 
Escalating costs, severe labor shortages and a mounting housing crisis are causing forward-thinking housing providers to embrace change in the form of modular construction.  
 
AHIC's August Third Thursday brings together industry leaders who have learned from past failures to build successful modular operations. 

• Kevin Scelfo of Greystar will present the company’s Modern Living Solutions modular housing initiative, which includes building their own modular factory.
   
• Caleb Roope of Autovol will describe the firm’s fully automated volumetric modular factory
   
• Keith Harris of Avanath Capital will explain their partnership with Vessel Technologies to assemble prefabricated apartment components.

The panelists will offer candid insights into both the benefits and the challenges of these new construction practices, including financing complexities, regulatory hurdles, and integration with site-built components, to help AHIC members better understand if modular’s day has finally arrived.
